Greg Climer is an artist and textile designer whose work blends traditional quilting techniques with digital technology to explore themes of queer identity and masculinity. He holds an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design and a BA in Theatre Design from Rollins College. His work spans both traditional and digital techniques, often focusing on the intersection of textiles, technology, and identity. His practice explores how fabrics and patterns can convey complex themes of queer identity and masculinity, creating pieces that challenge conventional boundaries between craft and technology.
Currently serving as Chair of the Fashion Design Program at California College of the Arts, Climer has exhibited his work in notable institutions such as the Museum of Art and Design (NYC), The Museum of Craft and Design (SF), Mint Museum of Art (NC), DeYoung Museum (SF), and the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, which holds his work in its permanent collection. His professional background includes roles with fashion houses like Victoria’s Secret Runway Show and Karl Lagerfeld, as well as his own menswear label.
